The Treatment Process

We will first take a thorough medical history. There will also be an online questionnaire to fill out prior to your appointment. This will help us gather in depth knowledge about your bladder and bowel function.

Your medical history discussion will give us an indication of what assessment and treatment will be needed to take place in our session.

Internal Assessment/Treatment

This is an optional part of treatment. Internal assessment will give us a better understanding of what is happening in the pelvic floor. Assessment will include:

  • Internal vagina palpation (assessing pelvic floor muscle tension and trigger point therapy)
  • External vulva assessment
  • Pelvic floor assessment – testing to see if your pelvic floor is weak or overactive
